Ok, everybody have been speculating over Alberto Contador case.
The UCI waited enough to be certain it would not lose should Alberto Contador appeal his case against the UCI in court, you see, Alberto Contador is very rich and can hire high profile lawyers.
Which he already did, Contador's defense will be led Swiss lawyer Rocco Taminelli, who defended Franco Pellizotti when he was acquitted of doping charges in Italy in October.
However, with all fairness, Contador's claim that a steak he dined on must have triggered his failed test sounds so much like a dead ended issue for the great spanish racer.
Cycling authorities and the World Anti-Doping Agency have spent three months preparing a massive dossier of evidence and scientific research that will now be weighed in Contador's hearing. It is at least 600 pages, says Douwe de Boer, a Dutch anti-doping expert who is studying it for Contador and advising him.
Well well well, I don't know how Contador defense is going to sort the following bit of information.
You see, Clenbuterol is a banned substance for feeding cattles in the European Union.
Also, over the last 5 years, 40,000 controls have been conducted by Bruxelles on various European Cattles, all had negative result but one, over 40,000 test, only one was tainted and it wasn't a spanish cattle (Contador claims the meat was bought in Irun - Spain - by a "friend").
In 2010, only 2 athletes have been caught with Clenbuterol tainted tests, 1 is a german ping-pong player that was covered up as he was caught in China and Clenbuterol is not a banned substance there.
The other athlete is an Italian cyclist, Alessandro Colo, has been suspended for 1 year instead of 2 years as the case happened in Mexico.
Now how can Contador win this case?
Even with Bjarn Rijs support and all the best lawyers and anti-doping advisers, Alberto 2011 season might be off.
