A bike than can go fast as a road bike but can absorb as much shocks as possible to keep the racer fresh and fast.
This bike is just between a Road bike and a Cyclocross bike in terms of frame geometry.
The key feature is the so called "IsoSpeed" junction of the seat tube and top tube. It is link to the frame via absorbing cartridge bearing pivot sealed with rubber so the seat tube (frame part) is isolated from the shocks coming up from the rear triangle.
Trek claim that the Domane frame is stiffer than the Madone at the headtube area and full frame rigidity. Now, why would someone want to buy a Madone?

The fork is also claimed to be stiffer than the road model by 30 percent.
Yet, this bike is much more comfortable, due to its geometry.
The fork feature an extreme blade rake, like the old days. To offset the wide angle, the dropouts are back facing.
The handling is more relaxed than on a road bike, the wheelbase is longer, the BB height is 2mm lower.
There is only 1 size of head tube per size, the handlebar is higher than on a Madone.
Tire clearance accept 28mm size.
